Today the city hosted the Sullivan County Commission with a picnic lunch in their honor at the courthouse in Blountville.
And the reason? To thank them for their $168,817 contribution to purchase Quint 3 - Bristol's newest fire truck that was on display.
The commission has a long-standing practice to provide capital funds to paid and volunteer fire departments in Sullivan County on a rotating basis to be used for the purchase of fire apparatus. Our turn came up last year.
Thank you Sullivan County Commission for this and all that you do - we hope you enjoyed the meal too.
